This piece is most beautifully put together. Deep, atmospheric, soul moving. Strong reminder of the music Ron Trent was making during his Giant Step NYC residency. Bringing back memories of late night dance parties during the 1990’s and even early 2000’s.
In order to make the "Speak To Me" release by Soul Renegades even more powerful and valuable we asked Ricky to step in to his James L’Estraunge Orchestra pseudonym and transform (remix sounds so limiting) the track into something completely different.
The result is something truly magical, a huge live jazz-funk escapade that sounds like if The Rotary Connection and Charles Stepny went on an orchestral late 70s jazz-funk-fusion journey…its big, epic and full of musical surprises!

I heard this album back 2016 , just was not in the mood for it, was still into more faster 4/4 beat music . Over last four year I have progressed into this love of soul , funk and especially jazz. This record is on fire, I love it so much . I love changes of the time signatures, yeah it has though Herbie feel, but also the urban feel, back in forest hill I go! jazz, funk, broken beat all in one it's a must ! Gary Hawkins
